About Me

Hello! I’m Elizabeth—a nontraditional student at Utah State University, currently majoring in Human Experience Design & Interaction (HEDI). I started college at USU in 2011, but life happens & I left shool for quite a while & did a lot of traveling and had kids. In 2023 I returned to USU & have been loving prioritizing my my education these past couple of years.
I’m also a mother of three wonderful children—my daughter Charlotte (14), son Cort (12), and youngest daughter Aspen (6). They are all amazing & I love them so much. They are my inspiration for everything that I do.
My love for web design began when I was just ten years old. I spent countless hours creating simple pages and learning HTML by experimenting. Life took me in different directions for a while, and I lost touch with it for over 25 years—but now, I’m getting reacquainted with HTML and CSS, and rediscovering the same passion for art and design I once had in childhood. I genuinely enjoy the challenges and learning experiences that come along with coding.

I come from a big family with three sisters and two brothers. One of my sisters, Jessica, is a UX Designer in Ohio. My goal is to follow in her footsteps and become a professional UX Designer myself someday. My other sister Abigail studied at USU. And my oldest sister Dorothy graduated from BYU & now lives in the D.C. area. My brother John works in the oil field & my brother Richard is in Ohio and is a truck driver.
Outside of design and coding, I’m also passionate about chainsaw carving. I’ll be updating this site soon with photos of my past chainsaw art projects. I don’t have any current carvings to share right now since most of my time has been devoted to my USU coursework—but once spring and summer roll around again, I’ll be back at it!
In my Graphic Production I course this semester, I’ll be creating more digital artwork and uploading it here as I go. For my final project, I’m planning to design a brochure for the Lil Red Barn—the wood shop and gallery where I work. Through this project, I’ll be learning how to use Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator to create professional-quality print and digital materials.
Thank you so much for visiting my portfolio and taking the time to learn more about me. I hope you enjoy following my progress as I evolve as an artist and share my creative journey!
